Nicky Bandini has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Azzedine Ounahi is interesting Serie A leaders, Napoli, who want to ‘reinforce’ their midfield amid the struggles of Spurs loanee, Tanguy Ndombele.

The Italian football expert shares how Napoli brought Ndombele to the club this season, but they ‘haven’t seen as much as they hoped’, as she told Transfer Talk on Sky Sports.

As a result, one of Morocco’s World Cup stars from Qatar, could earn a transfer to Naples instead of north London during the January transfer window, which would be pretty ironic.

Prior to Richarlison’s transfer to Tottenham from Everton in the summer, Ndombele was the club’s record transfer.

But he struggled prior to Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, despite a few kick up the backside by Jose Mourinho, he continued to disappoint, before Antonio Conte booted him out before he could get warm at Hotspur Way.

Well, with a host of Premier League clubs keen on Angers’ £22 million star, and Spurs being one of them, well, he could end up at one of the best teams in Europe instead.

“There are also suggestions that he could end up in Italy,” said Bandini “Napoli have had an interest. Napoli are, as many people in Europe would have woken up to after they thumped Juventus, they are brilliant and spectacular.

“One of the things that’s most impressive about them is their depth. When you look at their forward areas – you have that depth through a lot of the side, but you haven’t so much got it in midfield.

“They brought in Ndombele from Tottenham. I think they haven’t seen from him as much as they would have hoped, so I think they would like to reinforce the midfield.”

TOTTENHAM’S JANUARY WINDOW

At this moment in time, there has been a lot of speculation and nothing much concrete being put on the table.

It seems as though Conte is keen on improving his midfield and the defensive area, especially at wing-back.

But, with the Italian’s contract running down, and the winter transfer window a couple of weeks away from closing, it has to be questioned how much Conte will be backed this month.

And given Tottenham’s struggles in the Premier League, if it’s very little, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s gone in a few months.
