Fabrizio Romano has said on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele does not want to join Lyon in the summer transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that the Tottenham star does not want to be involved in any swap deal involving Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
ESPN reported last week that Spurs have offered Ndombele to Lyon to bring Aouar to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 24-year-old France international midfielder joined Spurs from Lyon in the summer of 2019.
Romano said about Ndombele on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel: “No, I am told no. The player is not considering to be included in any swap deal and not coming back to Lyon. I also heard this rumour.”
Why would Ndombele go back to Lyon?
Lyon are a big club, but they will not play in the Champions League next season.
Paris Saint-Germain are the dominant force in France, and it is very likely that they will reclaim the Ligue 1 title from Lille next season.
Yes, Spurs had a disappointing season in 2020-21, but the North London club are massive and will be determined to finish in the Premier League top four in 2021-22.
Going back to Lyon would be a step back for Ndombele, who has shown on many occasions over the past two seasons at Tottenham what he is capable of.
The Spurs no.28 scored three goals and gave two assists in the Premier League and provided one assist in the Europa League last season.
The midfielder also scored two goals in the FA Cup.
