Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:06pm, August 22, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur right-back Japhet Tanganga struggled against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Arsenal legend has said that Tottenham defender Tanganga was brilliant against Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend.
However, the 22-year-old “got the runaround” against Wolves in the league yesterday, according to Wright.
Nuno’s side won 1-0, thanks to a Dele Alli penalty.
Wright said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:06pm, August 22, 2021): “He had that game today where Tanganga, as good as he has been and I saw him brilliant against City, he got the runaround a bit, should have done better.”

How did Japhet Tanganga play?
Tanganga was one of the best players for Tottenham against City last weekend.
The 22-year-old kept Raheem Sterling quiet and got a lot of praise.
The youngster was not at that level against Wolves, as winger Adama Traore was very threatening.
Tanganga had a few tussles with Traore and also picked up a yellow card for a challenge on Marcal.

Traore often got the better of the Tottenham defender and created a very good chance for Raul Jimenez.
Tanganga had a pass accuracy of 70.4%, won two headers, took 49 touches, made two interceptions and seven clearances, and put in one cross.
The Tottenham defender will learn from his experience against Wolves.
And let’s face it, when Traore is on form, he is unplayable and unstoppable.
