Ian Wright has said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show that reported Arsenal target Tammy Abraham will return to the Premier League in the future after leaving Chelsea this summer.

The Arsenal legend has said that he does not think that the Gunners could do a deal to sign Abraham from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker has moved to AS Roma from Chelsea this summer.

Sky Sports have reported that Jose Mourinho’s side had to pay the Blues £34 million in transfer fee.

The Athletic reported this month that Arsenal wanted to sign Abraham.

The striker himself reportedly told his then Chelsea teammates that he wanted to join Arsenal, but the North London club did not make a bid for the England international striker.

Wright said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “There was talk that he was waiting for Arsenal, but I don’t think Arsenal could afford to do the deal.

“For me, it will be brilliant for him. Jose Mourinho will look after him. Then, he will come back to the Premier League as a better player. it will be a great move for him.”

Future Arsenal transfer?

Abraham is 23, and the striker is not going to be at Roma forever.

Perhaps in two or three years’ time the former Chelsea striker will be looking to return to the Premier League.

The Englishman is reportedly an Arsenal fan, and you would think that he would love to play for the Gunners in the future.

Arsenal are in a rebuilding phase at the moment and are not short of strikers, but perhaps in two or three years’ time things could change.
