Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers need a new striker and should they get Lawrence Shankland? Tam McManus believes so.

Tam McManus has said on RockSport Radio [broadcast 18/12/2018] that Rangers should sign Lawrence Shankland.
The 23-year-old is making quite a name for himself with Ayr United by netting 18 times in 16 Scottish Championship games this season.
It’s well documented that Rangers need another number nine after the Gers cancelled Umar Sadiq’s loan at Ibrox last week.
Steven Gerrard has only Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty at his disposal now, though the latter hasn’t scored a goal in nearly three months for the Glasgow giants.
And McManus, a former Ayr player turned BBC pundit, told RockSport Radio that the red-hot hitman would leapfrog Lafferty in Gerrard’s pecking order and rival Morelos for regular football.
He said: “He would go ahead of Lafferty in the pecking order. He’s a goalscorer and Rangers are creating a lot of chances and just not taking them.
“I never seen the game but I saw the statistics from the game at the weekend. Over 30 crosses into the box, that’s a striker’s dream.
“If Shankland’s on the end of them, it doesn’t matter what he does outside the box, inside the box he’s lethal.”

McManus claimed last weekend that Shankland is being watched by as many as eight clubs down South.
Considering he’s potentially available for a mere £400,000 [The Daily Record], Rangers should definitely consider him.
Lafferty is struggling in a big way, as pointed out above, and he really needs somebody like Shankland, someone young and hungry, to threaten his spot at Ibrox.
In short, he needs a kick up the you-know-what and someone of Shankland’s talents would certainly provide it.
