Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to deliver an update on Everton’s pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee.
The Netherlands Under-21 international has been targeted by both the Toffees and Serie A side Parma.
Yesterday, Sky Germany revealed that both sides made £8.9 million offers for the Dutchman, with Zirkzee happy to join either club.
Now, the hugely reliable Romano has added to that news.
You can see what the Italian journalist tweeted below.
It sounds as if Parma are trying their best to entice Zirkzee with the offer of regular first-team football, while Everton have a different plan.
It would be nice to know what that different plan is.

However, it is somewhat worrying that the Toffees haven’t proposed the same plan, as the 19-year-old isn’t going to want to sit on the bench, presumably.
With only days remaining of the transfer window, hopefully Everton’s intentions for Zirkzee become clear soon.
If they can fend off Parma, then Carlo Ancelotti will be getting a brilliant prodigy.

Bayern Munich’s academy manager Jochen Sauer described the Bayern Munich No.14 as a ‘great striker’ in an interview with Kicker in December.
He said: ‘Joshua is a great striker, that’s why we brought him from Feyenoord to Munich. He is a striker type that is no longer so common today: tall, athletic, but still technically strong.’
Hopefully, the Toffees can get this one over the line.
