Takumi Minamino scored for Liverpool against Brentford at Anfield at the weekend, and his performance really pleased Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, as you can see from his post on Instagram.
Liverpool got the better of Brentford 3-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Minamino, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, scored in the 77th minute.
It was the Japan international’s 27th birthday.
After the match, Minamino took to Instagram to express his delight at scoring in the win for Liverpool and celebrating his birthday in style.
And, as you can see below, Dortmund striker Haaland has responded to his message.
The fact that the 21-year-old Norway international striker even responded to Minamino’s Instagram post shows that he is really pleased for his former teammate.
Haaland and Minamino were teammates at RB Salzburg.
Could Takumi Minamino now kick on at Liverpool?
Minamino was criticised for missing an easy chance against Arsenal last week, but the Japan international did well for Liverpool against Brentford.

In our view, the goal against Brentford could now help Minamino to kick on.
With Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (potentially) injured, Minamino, 27, could get chances in the coming games.
Maybe Minamino could score a few more goals and his confidence will be back.
