Watford have confirmed that Xisco Munoz has left his post as the club’s Head Coach.

In a statement published on the club’s official website, the Hornets said: “The Board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.”

With Watford sitting 14th in the Premier League table following their promotion from the Championship, it is a baffling decision from the Hertfordshire side to sack Munoz.

However, it is perhaps not too surprising given the nature of Watford’s record of going through managers. Munoz was the eighth different name to have the permanent position at the club since 2015.

Indeed, Munoz becomes the first managerial casualty of the 2021/22 Premier League season. And for Tottenham fans, they believe that they should follow suit with Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese manager has had a mixed spell since his appointment this summer. Nuno won his three Premier League games, but has since lost the previous three, with Spurs facing Aston Villa later today.
