Some Arsenal fans will have an interest in Emiliano Buendia’s performances given speculation linking the Norwich City star with Mikel Arteta’s side, and they will be pleased to hear Daniel Farke’s assessment of his latest display.

Mundo Deportivo reported in January 2021 that the agent of the Norwich attacking midfielder plans to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2021.

Emile Smith Rowe is 20 years of age, while Martin Odegaard is on loan from Real Madrid at Arsenal.

The Gunners could need a creative midfielder at the end of the season, and 24-year-old Buendia would be a good signing.

The attacking midfielder did well in the Premier League for Norwich in 2019-20, scoring one goal and providing seven assists, and he has maintained his form in the Championship this season.

Buendia was in action for Norwich at the weekend, as the Canaries beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 away from home in the Championship.

The Argentine provided an assist before being taken off in injury time in the game on Sunday.

Norwich manager Farke was pleased with Buendia’s performance, but he was not happy with the yellow card that was given to him.

It should be noted that Buendia actually made two tackles against Wycombe, according to WhoScored – he also made two interceptions and two clearances – but the point Farke is trying to make is that he was unjustifiably given a yellow card for the first foul that he committed.

Farke told Norwich’s official website: “Emi tackled 20 times in the game and then for his first foul he gets a yellow card, he’s an emotional player and I want him to play on this emotion, but in a smart way.

“I was quite confident he would handle it in a pretty professional and disciplined way and that’s what he did. I was able to rest him in the last few minutes and give him a little break, but before it was important to set up the second goal and earn his rest.”
