The Boston Celtics will have plenty of options if they decide to move on from Jaylen Brown this offseason, with a new trade partner emerging in the West.
The Celtics may have strained their relationship with 2024 Finals MVP Brown by openly shopping him for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
After failing to land Giannis, other teams are eyeing Brown if his time in Boston is over. This includes the Portland Trail Blazers from the West.
Blazers are eyeing a star acquisition like Celtics’ Jaylen Brown
Marc Stein revealed that the Portland Trail Blazers are aggressively pursuing Brown after coveting him as a talent for years. The expected trade price for Brown will likely include four or more first-round picks.
“There is one team leaguewide, sources say, most frequently described as actively pursuing Boston’s Jaylen Brown. The Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers have been known to covet Brown dating back to Damian Lillard’s first tenure with the franchise. And they still do.”
“The question from here, of course, is whether even the aggressive Blazers are willing to satisfy Boston’s steep demands in trade talks. ESPN reported Friday that the Celtics, in some recent conversations with interested teams involving Brown, have sought four first-round picks for him.”

Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists last season for the Celtics in a career-best season.
The Blazers could have a monster package for the Celtics
The Blazers surprised everyone by making the 2026 NBA Playoffs, with stars Deni Avdija, Donovan Clingan, and Scoot Henderson taking notable strides in their development. Avdija is an All-Star forward, and Brown is the kind of player who knows how to play alongside that.
In addition to four first-round picks, the Blazers are likely to give up former Celtic Robert Williams III alongside Jerami Grant and Shaedon Sharpe. This is an expensive package, but it might be what’s necessary to convince the Celtics to part with Brown.
The Celtics build their depth up with a strong cast of players while acquiring future assets they could leverage for other win-now trades.
Going to Portland might not be ideal for Brown, but he would be the team’s No. 1 scoring option with Damian Lillard alongside him and a strong defensive setup including Clingan, Toumani Camara, and Brown’s former title-winning teammate Jrue Holiday.
