Rangers were knocked out of the Betfred Cup but an Alfredo Morelos clip was shared ahead of this weekend’s semi-finals

The Betfred Cup semi-finals will be contested this weekend, with St Johnstone taking on Hibs and Livingston facing St Mirren.
It’s the rare occasion when the last four of a major Scottish football tournament features neither Celtic or Rangers.
Neil Lennon’s side were beaten 2-0 by Ross County at Celtic Park in the second round, while Steven Gerrard’s men went down 3-2 in Paisley against St Mirren at the quarter-final stage.

Looking ahead to the upcoming semis, the SPFL’s Twitter account shared a video featuring Alfredo Morelos.
The Rangers striker’s double against Hearts in last season’s 3-0 semi-final win was featured in a tweet accompanied by the caption: “The Betfred Cup semi-finals are just days away!
“@RangersFC’s @morelos2106 took centre stage in the second of last season’s semi’s, scoring twice to send the Light Blues through!
“Which players are going to shine in this weekend’s two semi-final clashes?”
A number of fans took issue with the SPFL account’s decision to preview the semi-finals by featuring a club who have already been eliminated.
St Johnstone take on Hibs in the first semi-final on Saturday at 5.30pm, before Livingston face St Mirren at 4pm on Sunday.
