
Rio Ferdinand has said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE that that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has to use Joe Willock next season given his performances at Newcastle United in recent weeks.
The former Manchester United star has been impressed by the performances of Willock during his loan spell at Newcastle, and believes that the 21-year-old midfielder has to be part of the Arsenal first team next season.
Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE: “Even Joe Willock’s gone on loan to Newcastle and kept them up, he’s got to come back into the frame surely after that little spell he’s had there.”
Willock struggled to play regularly for Arsenal in the first half of the season, but the midfielder has been brilliant for Newcastle during his loan spell.
The 21-year-old has been allowed to play his natural game by Newcastle manager Steve Bruce, and he has flourished.
The youngster has scored goals from midfield, making important runs and linking up well with his teammates,

The Englishman has scored five goals in eight Premier League starts for the Magpies.
Willock is a joy to watch at Newcastle, and the youngster appears to be loving it at the club.
Newcastle manger Steve Bruce has said that he would love to have the youngster in his team next season as well.
It remains to be seen what Willock wants to do, but Arteta simply has to give him a chance, at least in pre-season.
Arsenal could do with a midfielder who can score goals on a regular basis, like Willock is doing.
