Reported Arsenal target Andre Onana appears to be staying in Ajax for the time being.
According to De Telegraaf, the Cameroonian keeper has turned down a move to Olympique Lyonnais at the last moment. As per the report, ‘big clubs’ have come in for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal were heavily linked with Onana earlier in the window. However, interest in the Ajax star seemed to cool as Mikel Arteta focused his attention on homegrown options like Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale.
According to L’Equipe, Lyon had agreed to a €6m (£5m) fee with Ajax for Onana. And as per De Telegraaf, there is a good chance that the Dutch giants will sell their shot-stopper this window.
Indeed, Arsenal’s need for a keeper has led many to speculate that the north London side have an eleventh-hour move for the African keeper.
Bernd Leno’s future is up in the air, and the Gunners are clearly in the market for a new keeper this window. And at just £5m, Onana could be a perfect signing for the Arsenal this summer.

And on social media, Arsenal fans were on their knees begging to Arteta to sign Onana as soon as possible with Lyon now out of the race to sign the keeper.
The 25-year-old ace has a plethora of European and domestic experience and was part of the famous Ajax side that were seconds away from the 2019 UEFA Champions League final.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about Onana being back on the market for cheap on Twitter…
