Stewart Cink has spoken about the mixed emotions he’s experiencing over the changes taking place on the PGA Tour under new CEO Brian Rolapp. The restructuring comes as part of a wider overhaul that’s already starting to reshape the landscape of professional golf.
The shift has been noticeable, especially after only 100 players retained full membership cards for the 2025 season. Fans have already started to notice the impact, and there’s talk that this is just the beginning.
A big part of that might be a smaller schedule. Harris English even said he heard there could be only 20 events in future seasons.
Tiger Woods has backed the idea, believing it would raise competition levels, but not everyone is convinced by what’s being proposed.
Cink discusses worries over Rollap’s reforms

Cink was open about his concerns when speaking to Golf Digest, noting how difficult it will be for players outside that top 100:
“I think some of those changes are going to make it really difficult for anybody who doesn’t play good golf in one year and fall outside of those top-100 cards,” he said.
“It’s not going to be an easy thing just like start fresh and play your way back in like we’re used to seeing. So you know I’m waiting until all these things become a little bit more final before I really form my opinions. But I am concerned.”

Cameron Young also raised issues with how these changes could impact his career path:
“I don’t know exactly where I stand yet or if they’re locked in, but you go from having one set path where if you get your card you can move into those elevated events,” Young explained.
