Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should move for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, says Steve Nicol.

The Liverpool legend has suggested that Godin would be a better signing for the Reds than Domagoj Vida.
According to Milliyet, Liverpool are interested in signing 29-year-old Croatia international defender Vida from Besiktas in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
Nicol told ESPN FC about Liverpool potential signing Vida: “I would say no. If I could right now, I would go to Atletico Madrid and get Godin. He has got another couple of seasons left in him.”

Quality defender
Godin is one of the best central defenders in the world and has been on top of his game for several years now.
Despite being 32 years of age, the centre-back is going strong as ever and is one of the top five players in his position in the world.
A no-nonsense defender who is as good a reader of the game as anyone, the Uruguay international would be a great signing for Liverpool.
During his time at Atletico so far, Godin has won La Liga once and the Europa League twice, and has also helped the Madrid club reach the final of the Champions League twice.
