Mohamed Salah was the face of Liverpool during the Jurgen Klopp era but they are now approaching the very difficult task of replacing him.
The Egyptian winger has broken numerous records and won countless titles with the Reds, but he is now entering the twilight years of his career.
With Arne Slot now at the helm, the Dutchman has the near-impossible task of trying to replace Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have been urged by Ian Rush to keep hold of Salah, but Saudi Pro League clubs continue to show interest in him.
Salah was subject to a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad last summer and links to Saudi Arabia have not quietened down.
So the options on the table for Liverpool now are to cash in on Salah and reinvest the money in a blockbuster replacement, or bide their time and keep hold of him next summer.
Either way, they will need to replace him sooner or later.

Steve Nicol on Mohamed Salah replacement
Losing Salah would be a huge blow to Liverpool – not only does he guarantee goals and assists but he is a leader and a proven winner.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Anthony Gordon this summer as a potential Salah replacement, but pundit Steve Nicol believes the best option is already at Anfield.
Speaking on ESPN, Nicol said “I think the easiest one would be Diaz.
“Then, that way, if you still have Gakpo you can give him another chance on the left-hand side as that is where he has done his best work with Holland.”
Liverpool must sign a Salah replacement
Diaz is a cheap and easy option to replace Salah, but the drop in quality would be staggering.
The Colombian winger has struggled for consistency since his move to Merseyside, and while he has shown glimpses of quality he would not be able to get even close to Salah’s goal output.

Ultimately, a marquee signing is needed and Gordon fits the bill.
Liverpool are the only Premier League side yet to complete any business this summer but a big-money move for a winger would quickly put smiles back on the faces of fans.
