Aston Villa are seemingly looking to the Scottish market for more talent.

Aston Villa missed out on Scott McKenna last month – and they may be looking to other talents currently featuring in Scottish football.
Villa wanted to bring the Aberdeen defender to Villa Park on deadline day in August, but were batted away by the Dons, who stood firm on their star defender.
The January transfer window may be some time away, but Bruce may not only be eyeing up a new move for McKenna, but also for other Scottish talents.
Bruce has been quoted by the Evening Express as saying that there are ‘two or three players’ in Scotland currently on Villa’s radar, just a month after landing midfielder John McGinn from Hibernian.
A number of players may fit the bill, but given Villa’s desperate need for defensive talent, Hearts defender John Souttar simply must be one of the players Bruce is referring to.
The Scottish Sun reported in 2016 that Villa were keen on Souttar and would continue to track his progress under Bruce, and January may be the perfect time to land him to bolster Bruce’s options.

The 21-year-old has become a star in Scottish football, playing almost 100 times for Hearts since a February 2016 move from Dundee United whilst becoming a new Scotland international last month.
Souttar is destined for a bright future, and having started tracking him two years ago, the time is right for Villa to bid for centre back Souttar in January, especially given Aberdeen’s stance on McKenna.
