The England squad for the June UEFA Nations League fixtures has been announced, finally answering the question of who will represent the Three Lions ahead of their clashes against Germany and Italy.

With only two new call-ups in Jarrod Bowen and James Justin, Gareth Southgate didn’t pull too many surprises despite leaving out the likes of Eric Dier and James Maddison from the England squad, who have been exceptional in recent weeks.

These summer fixtures will be key for those England players looking to make the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad later in the year, yet for some other names in the squad who are looking to impress, these games can be used to win a move at club level in the coming weeks.

With 26-players in the England squad, who is best positioned to win a summer move in the upcoming international break, and which players will be desperate to impress potential suitors.

With Burnley relegated to the Championship, many of the Clarets’ top players will be looking for an escape route back to the Premier League, and Nick Pope could be one of the first names to leave Turf Moor this summer.

The 30-year-old is one of the best goalkeepers in England, and with clubs already reportedly preparing to sign Pope, the shot-stopper can win some more reputation amongst suitors if he features for the Three Lions over the international break.

Conor Gallagher is one of the newest members of the England squad after a breakthrough season with Crystal Palace, and with the on-loan Chelsea star unlikely to feature for his boyhood club under Thomas Tuchel, the 21-year-old midfielder could be on the move this summer.

Blessed with overall talent and the ability to do almost any role in the midfield, Gallagher has a unique selling point when it comes to interested clubs, and with Everton already reportedly interested in the youngster, the England star could win a big move if he impresses for Gareth Southgate’s squad this summer.

From one midfielder with a questionable future to another, Kalvin Phillips will remain a Premier League player next season after Leeds United survived relegation on the final day of the season, yet the 26-year-old now looks more likely than ever to depart Elland Road.

With reported interest from Aston Villa, Manchester City and Manchester United, Phillips is seemingly set for a big-money move this summer, and more impressive performances for England against the likes of Germany and Italy could help the midfielder’s push for an exit.

Jarrod Bowen

The latest player to join Southgate’s squad, Bowen has been one of the standout names in the Premier League this season, and understandably, the winger has caught the eye of some big clubs, namely Liverpool.

Whilst a move seems unlikely this year, Bowen making his mark on the international stage could force clubs beyond the Premier League to take notice of the West Ham star, which might snowball into an unexpected transfer for the attacker.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling has been part of the England furniture since 2014, yet this summer could be the Manchester City winger’s biggest in some time, with a reported exit on the cards following the arrivals of both Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

The £50m England star is also reportedly wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham, and if Sterling turns up for the Three Lions like he so often does, then the attacker could place himself in the shop window and even force either north London side to take a punt on the 27-year-old.
