Tchouameni’s solid performances at Monaco have drawn plenty of attention to him, with Liverpool now joining the list of clubs interested in acquiring his services.
Indeed, the Reds’ interest actually seems fairly advanced, with the latest update suggesting that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a move to get him.
Those rumours have left many Liverpool fans ecstatic, as they believe the Frenchman could be a wonderful addition to their squad.
Midfielder needed?
Liverpool actually have plenty of options in midfield, yet it still feels like an area where they need to target another player.
Klopp opted against signing a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer.
Whether that was down to personal preference or budgetary restrictions is up for debate.
But the links with Tchouameni suggest that Liverpool do still have an eye on improvements they could make in the centre of the pitch.
Tchouameni’s strengths actually lie in the defensive area of the game, so he could add real bite to their midfield.
