Liverpool are seemingly keen on signing Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Monaco midfielder is a very sought-after name and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked in recent weeks.
But Liverpool are also now at the table, going by reports from Italy.
According to Tuttojuve, the Reds are among the clubs to have contacted the Ligue 1 side to ask about their 21-year-old – and his price.
The report adds that Tchouameni could be allowed to leave Stade Louis II for as little as £42 million.
However, Liverpool have serious competition because the report also states that European champions Chelsea are willing to go as high as £52 million to get their man.
Needed
Let’s face it, Jurgen Klopp needs another midfielder.
The Anfield club took shortcuts last summer by refusing to replace Georginio Wijnaldum and it’s starting to catch up to Klopp and Michael Edwards with injuries to similar players.
Harvey Elliott is out for a while, Thiago is only just back fit again and Naby Keita, well you can never truly bank on him.
Tchouameni is a player Liverpool do need and it’ll be interesting to see if Klopp goes ahead with the quoted price.
