Roy Hodgson has said on Sky Sports that Conor Gallagher should not leave Graham Potter’s Chelsea amid interest from Newcastle United, Everton and Crystal Palace.
The former Crystal Palace manager has said Gallagher should stay at Chelsea and should not leave on January transfer deadline day just because he is not playing regularly at the moment.
The England international midfielder has been the subject of intense speculation in the final hours of the January transfer deadline day.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Liverpool want to sign the 22-year-old.
Everton have reportedly made an offer of £45 million for the youngster.
TalkSPORT have claimed that Newcastle United, West Ham United and Crystal Palace all want to sign Gallagher on a loan deal.
Roy Hodgson on Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher amid Newcastle and Everton interest
Hodgson said about Gallagher: “I think he is a very good player. He is always going to be asking questions of the manager at Chelsea. ‘Am I not the man who can help you win the game today?’

“I think he will get matches, and I think his future is so bright that he doesn’t need to jump ship the first time he hits a small barrier, that is, he is not the first name on the teamsheet. I would like to see him stay really, keep going at Chelsea.”
What should Conor Gallagher do?
In our view, Conor Gallagher should stay at Chelsea for the rest of the season despite interest from Everton, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
True, the 22-year-old is not having the best of times at Chelsea on a personal level right now and may not get much playing time at Stamford Bridge between now and the end of the season.
However, we do not think that Gallagher should rush into making a decision right now.
In the summer of 2023, the youngster will have a lot of time to think about his future carefully.
