The Leeds left-back comes out on top of Morgan Fox and Aaron Cresswell.

Manchester United are said to be looking for a new left-back in January. Daley Blind has seemingly become a central option and Luke Shaw, their first-choice left-back, has suffered a serious leg break and is out of action until next year.

With that in mind they are said to be keeping tabs on a number of left-back options and today The Mirror reported the three names seemingly on their shortlist.

The report claimed that Charlton Athletic’s Morgan Fox, Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor and West Ham United’s Aaron Cresswell are the three names involved.

So who comes out in terms of statistics this season?

Defensively you can see that Leeds’ Taylor just pips the other two to the line. He has won more interceptions and one-on-one battles than the other two and by some distance.

Cresswell is the only one to have caused a goal with an error, two in fact. That could certainly be put down to the increased difficulty of playing in the Premier League.

Fox however blocks the most crosses and wins the most tackles.

Going forward it is harder to see a clear winner. The West Ham is the only one with any assists this season, with two. However he hasn’t scored, the other two have one apiece.

But again it is the Leeds man who might just sneak it. He is the best dribbler of the bunch, has completed the most forward passes and the most passes in the final third of the pitch.

If you look at the stats, Manchester United should look at Leeds United’s Taylor first.
