Joe Rodon has become something of a forgotten man despite recently arriving at Spurs for £15m just last year, yet for Wales, the defender continues to be important.
The centre-back was in fine form on Saturday night as Robert Page’s side claimed a huge 5-1 win against Belarus. With Wales securing a play-off spot to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
And Rodon has been key to this journey, with the former Swansea City star playing a crucial role for Wales. And on Saturday, the 24-year-old was in incredible form.
As per Squawka, Rodon made more interceptions and more clearances than any other Welsh player against Belarus. With the Spurs defender also winning 100% of his duels against the eastern European nation.
Indeed, with Rodon hardly getting a look in at Spurs under both Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo, the Welsh defender has had a rough time since moving to north London.
Whilst these fortunes could change under Antonio Conte, it remains to be seen if the Italian manager will hand Rodon a chance in his infamous three-at-the-back formation.
