Arsenal rescued a point last night against Crystal Palace as Mikel Arteta’s substitute Alexandre Lacazette fired a stoppage-time equaliser.

The 30-year-old attacker was brought on in the second half with Arsenal scrambling for anything against the south London side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired Gunners ahead early on. But Palace fought back into the game after two mistakes in midfield.

Arsenal struggled to break down Palace with Arteta’s side looking uninterested in making any late runs or direct passes towards the Palace goal.

Yet Lacazette was on hand in the dying second of the match to poke in a spilt shot from Vicente Guaita to steal a point from Palace at the death.

Indeed, the overall performance was from Arsenal was slammed by supporters. After all, the Gunners took an early lead and did nothing for the majority of the match to build from their lead.

Had it not been for Lacazette, Arsenal would have certainly fallen victim to another embarrassing result from the hands of Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
