Alexandre Lacazette had a relatively dismal last season at Arsenal, it has to be said.
The French hitman only managed to score twice from open play in the Premier League all season, despite being the Gunners’ starting striker for the majority of the campaign.
So when Arsenal released him during the summer, it wasn’t a massive surprise, it has to be said.
However, the 31-year-old is striving back in Ligue 1.
Lacazette re-signed for Lyon on a free transfer and has netted three goals in five league outings for the French outfit since returning.
He scored again in a 5-0 demolition of Angers on Saturday and he looks to be finally enjoying his football again.
In fact, Lacazette is actually playing ahead of a striker who Arsenal reportedly wanted to sign during the summer transfer window.

Moussa Dembele was linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium in July and yet he can’t get a game ahead of the former France international, which speaks volumes.
If it was a case of Arsenal going for him or Gabriel Jesus, well Edu and Mikel Arteta definitely made the right decision.
That’s because the Brazilian has enjoyed a stunning start to life in North London, scoring three Premier League goals en route to becoming a massive fan favourite already.
It’s nice to see that things have worked out nicely for Lacazette who, despite struggling for form, was always a professional and even finished his Arsenal career as club captain.
But no doubt the club’s hierarchy will be happy that they didn’t pursue Dembele if he’s behind Lacazette in the pecking order.
