Off the football pitch, Tottenham Hotspur have done so much right throughout the past 12 months.
They have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo, replacing him with Antonio Conte.
In January, they signed Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, two winter transfers who look like they could be mainstays in this Spurs XI for years to come.
After qualifying for the Champions League, ENIC announced an injection of £150 million.
And obviously they’ve enjoyed a wonderful summer transfer window, puncuated by a club-record £60 million deal to sign Richarlison from Everton.
Yep, it’s been a stunning year for the Lilywhites, but they did make one wrong decision.

In addition to all that, they also sold Juan Foyth for £12.6 million [Marca] in a sale which could haunt Daniel Levy for quite a while.
That’s because the Villarreal defender is now linked with Barcelona and Mundo Deportivo reported on Saturday that the Argentina international is their ‘priority’ signing when it comes to a right-back.
Fabio Paratici seems to be calling the shots on transfer-related matters at Hotspur Way these days, but the Spanish outfit had an option to sign Foyth on a permanent basis and the details of that loan were set long before the Italian ever arrived in North London.
Logically, it was Levy who would’ve sanctioned the 24-year-old’s loan and, more importantly, the stipulations of that deal, such as option to sign or obligation to make it permanent.
As mentioned, this is someone who’s only 24.
He’s going to get frighteningly better over the coming years and it won’t reflect particularly well on Tottenham that they sold him for under £13 million.
Obviously he wasn’t a major player in North London, but he could’ve been and that’s what will frustrate Spurs supporters, the fact he was deemed surplus to requirements just because Jose Mourinho didn’t fancy him.
It’s still been a glorious last year for the Lilywhites, but Foyth’s sale for such a low figure – and the fact he could join one of the world’s biggest clubs – is certainly a blemish.
