Atalanta starlet Giorgio Scalvini has played down reports linking him with Liverpool after being asked about a potential switch to the Premier League giants.
One of the breakthrough talents of the current Serie A campaign, Scalvini’s impressive form under Gian Piero Gasperini means La Dea may soon have the opportunity to bring in another colossal fee for another exciting young talent.
Atalanta have sold Dejan Kulusevski, Amad Diallo, Cristian Romero and co in recent windows. And, according to Calciomercato the £35 million-rated Scalvini has played his way onto the radar of a Liverpool side facing up to an extensive summer overhaul.

Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid also like the versatile 19-year-old. Manchester City too.
But while Scalvini has spoken openly about his interest in a move to the Premier League, the four-time Italy international insists that he is not allowing any ‘rumours’ to distract him from Atalanta’s Champions League charge.
Liverpool like Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini
“It may be nice, but I’m just reading in passing. I’m concentrated here, at Atalanta,” Scalvini tells Tuttomercatoweb when those Liverpool links were brought up.
“None of us can know what the future holds for me. I just have to think about doing well at Atalanta.
“I’m serene. I don’t feel any pressure from news or rumours. I can isolate myself and think only of what I have to do on the pitch, in training. What the coach and my team-mates ask me.”
Scalvini, who can play in central midfield and at centre-half, could kill two birds with one proverbial stone for a Liverpool side chasing additions in both positions.
“I feel great here,” Scalvini adds. “I grew up here. I’m very attached to the club, to the management but also to my team-mates and the staff. (Atalanta) is the club that raised me and then launched me.
“I can’t say now where I see myself in a year or five. Should I still be at Atalanta, I’d be delighted. I feel great here and I’ll always do everything to give my best for this shirt.”
Atalanta are currently seventh in the Serie A table. There is, however, just two points separating them from fourth place.
