Anthony Gordon will be donning blue in September, but will it be the colours of his beloved Everton or Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea?
On Saturday, the sought-after Everton player scored for Frank Lampard’s side as they secured a 1-1 draw at Brentford.
The 21-year-old reacted on Instagram to that point on the road, with his new £33 million (BBC Sport) Toffees teammate, Amadou Onana, labelling him ‘star boy’ in the comments section.
Everton are still without a win after four Premier League games, but in truth, fans shouldn’t be worried too much yet because it’s still early days.
On top of that, last season, with Rafa Benitez in charge, they started off the campaign in a strong fashion only to end the season surviving relegation by the skin of their teeth.
So, perhaps starting off in a quiet fashion might help them in the long run because Lampard is facing a pretty tall order on Merseyside and the summer transfer window will say a lot about their season.

SHOULD EVERTON SELL GORDON?
For an unproven performer, Chelsea are seemingly willing to put serious money on the table for Gordon, but should the Toffees sell their academy product?
Lampard has spoken highly about the all-action winger and how he is valuable to their cause, but is that the Everton boss telling his former side where to go? Or possibly trying to eek out every bit of transfer fee for his player ahead of next week’s deadline?
Well, Gordon’s celebration for his goal at Brentford, where he put his fingers in his ears, as well as his supposed wave of goodbye to the fans was interesting viewing yesterday.
If it was up to the Goodison Park faithful, then their rising winger would stay put because he is their shining light during gloomy times – and, whatever happens, at least he is putting his head down and grafting, despite all the talk.
