Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a new manager after sacking Thomas Frank on Wednesday.

Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Newcastle dragged them deeper into a relegation battle and made Frank’s position untenable.

Former manager Harry Redknapp has now been linked with a return to the North London club.

Ex-Premier League striker Charlie Austin has pointed to the Cheltenham Festival as the reason that won’t happen.

Harry Redknapp loves racing so much that he owns a few top-class horses, such as The Jukebox Man and Shakem Up’Arry.

The Jukebox Man is his most successful, having won the King George VI Chance at Kempton on Boxing Day.

He is now one of the favourites to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March, which Redknapp will surely attend.

Austin is convinced that Redknapp would even prioritise watching The Jukebox Man over managing Spurs if he were offered the job.

“Harry Redknapp is not going to become the manager of Spurs,” Austin tweeted after seeing Spurs fans clamour for the 78-year-old.

“The Cheltenham Festival is coming up. He has a horse fully in the race and top of the market!

“Spurs fans, just realise you are no longer a big club. You just have an elite stadium and training ground!!!”

The Jukebox Man is unlikely to win the Cheltenham Festival

Even though it’s one of the favourites, The Jukebox Man remains unlikely to win the Gold Cup on 20 March.

He will be up against former champions Galopin Des Champs and Inothewayurthinkin, who have proven to cope with the Cheltenham hill.

Meanwhile, leading trainer Willie Mullins could send any of Fact to File, Gaelic Warrior, or I Am Maximus to strengthen the field.

Nicky Henderson’s horse, Jango Baie, is another major player who will give The Jukebox Man plenty to think about.
