Liverpool could have a busy summer of ins and outs as Arne Slot makes his mark on the squad.

Replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield was always going to be one of the most difficult jobs in football – Arne Slot has stepped in to do just that and his first task is getting the most out of this summer’s transfer window.

Liverpool will return to the Champions League next season after securing a third-placed finish in the Premier League and participating in the prestigious tournament will make the six-time European champions even more attractive to transfer targets.

But the Reds also have a task on their hands keeping their current squad together with plenty of interest in their biggest stars.

There are already question marks around the future of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, and winger Luis Diaz has also been attracting interest from abroad.

Barcelona director likes Liverpool’s Luis Diaz

Diaz’s father has previously revealed that the Liverpool winger is a fan of Barcelona and reports from Spain suggest that the feeling is mutual.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Diaz is liked by Barcelona’s sporting director Deco with the Catalan giants in the market for a new winger.

However, HITC understands that Diaz wants a new contract at Liverpool with his representatives informing the club that he would like terms finalised this summer – Diaz currently has a contract at Anfield until 2027.

HITC understands that Liverpool, under Michael Edwards, see Diaz as a key part of their attack going forward.

Diaz was certainly admired by former boss Jurgen Klopp, who previously hailed him as “really, really special” in 2022.

The Colombian signed for Liverpool for a fee of £37.5million in 2022 and Barcelona’s financial difficulties could slow their interest.
