Napoli star Fabian Ruiz is dreaming of a return to Spain at the end of the season with either Barcelona or Real Madrid against rival transfer interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who report Ruiz has earmarked a return to La Liga after four-years if he leave Naples. The Azzurri signed the 25-year-old from Real Betis in 2018 for €30m (£25m), but the midfielder will enter the final 12-months of his contract this summer.
Talks between Ruiz’s representatives and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis over a new deal for the Spaniard are currently frozen. The impasse is causing tension among the Stadio Diego Maradona fanbase as De Laurentiis will have to consider bids without an agreement.

Ruiz will have a wide market of suitors in the summer if the 15-cap international leaves his Serie A side. Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United are keen to seal a transfer for the Napoli maestro, although Ruiz did already reject a move to St James’ Park this January.
Per AS, the Betis product snubbed the Magpies’ interest last month as he had no interest in moving mid-season. Ruiz knows more clubs will come calling at the end of the season while Napoli are also competing for Serie A honours. The Azzurri sit third, two-points behind first.
Arsenal, Newcastle must convince Napoli star Ruiz of Premier League transfer
Arsenal and Newcastle, again, will have to convince Ruiz of a summer transfer to England if he leaves Napoli. His all-out desire right now is to return to Spain with either La Liga giant Real Madrid or Barcelona. Corriere dello Sport have also reported that Liverpool are keen.

Ruiz has put numerous clubs on alert with a sublime season that has the Azzurri dreaming of winning Serie A. The midfielder – who his former Betis boss Quique Setien once dubbed, via Goal, as ‘spectacular’ – has so far scored five goals and has three assists in 20 games.
