Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to have joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz at the end of the season.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who claim that Ruiz is already a wanted man months in advance of the summer window.
The January window only closed a matter of hours ago but the Italian press are already talking up a move away for Ruiz.
Ruiz is now inside the final 18 months of his contract, meaning Napoli may be forced to sell at the end of the season.
It’s stated that Newcastle have ‘gone straight to the heart’ of the battle for Ruiz and appear to desperate to bring him to Tyneside.
Can you imagine a midfield duo of Bruno Guimaraes and Ruiz? Newcastle would have such greater control of games, with both players taking care of possession so well.
The problem fro Newcastle is that many other clubs also want to sign Ruiz at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that Arsenal have been looking towards Ruiz, whilst Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United also want him.
Real Madrid and Barcelona also love Ruiz, meaning there could be a scramble for the Spaniard’s signature at the end of the season.
Ruiz, 25, has racked up five goals and three assists for Napoli this season, continuing to shine in Serie A.

Ruiz has been branded ‘extraordinary’ over in Italy, shining ever since joining Napoli from Real Betis back in 2018.
Arsenal absolutely need to find another midfielder, and a player like Ruiz – who can dictate the game alongside Thomas Partey – would be ideal.
Mikel Arteta may well know all about his fellow Spaniard, which would explain Arsenal’s interest in a deal.
Liverpool didn’t replace Georginio Wijnaldum last summer, and Ruiz may be seen as a player who can dovetail well with Thiago Alcantara in terms of their technical ability.
This promises to be a fierce battle for Ruiz, and Newcastle would really be flexing their financial muscles by beating European giants to his signature.
