Diego Llorente has been speaking to Cadena SER about Mohamed Salah and Liverpool, and the Leeds man had some kind words to say.

What’s the story?

Well, the £18m Leeds man is clearly a big fan of Liverpool’s No.11, who is arguably the best player on the planet right now.

Llorente was speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Atlético Madrid, where he wrongly predicted a win for Diego Simeone’s side.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard waxed lyrical about Salah.

Llorente said: “He is in a spectacular moment, the numbers reflect it. He is a complete footballer at all levels. He is fast, strong, skilled with the ball.”

It’s always nice to see footballers appreciate their peers, and Llorente is clearly a huge admirer of the 71-cap Egypt international.

In truth, we’d be surprised if any footballer on the planet doesn’t admire what Salah is doing right now – he’s in otherworldly form.

Leeds have a Mohamed Salah replacement for Liverpool

Without a doubt, it will be hugely difficult to replace Salah when he eventually departs Anfield, or hangs up his boots.

Few players in Europe possess the ability of the 29-year-old, and few can terrorise defences by charging at them like he does.

However, we believe Raphinha could be that man.

Liverpool have already expressed an interest in the Brazilian, and there are definitely similarities between the pair.

Both Salah and Raphinha are left footed, and love to cut inside from the right flank.

The pair also share rapid pace, and a directness that strikes fear into opponents.

Raphinha is also five years younger than Salah, so he’s at the right age to be a long-term replacement for the former Chelsea forward.

Leeds wouldn’t just give their No.10 away – in our view, Liverpool would have to smash their club-record transfer fee to sign him.
