Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing Raphinha from Leeds United, according to comments from his agent Deco in Globo.
What’s the story?
Former Chelsea and Barcelona star Deco is now Raphinha’s agent.
Deco has claimed that former Premier League champions Liverpool are interested in signing the 24-year-old winger.
The former Portugal international midfielder has added that Raphinha is very ambitious and will eventually leave Leeds for bigger and better things.
Deco’s revelations
Raphinha’s agent, Deco, told Globo, as translated by Sky Sports: “There are certainly many clubs interested in him. Liverpool do like him and there were some approaches, but nothing official. Leeds wanted to keep him for another season.
“Raphinha is happy at Leeds, but there will certainly come a time when he wants to take a step up in his career and move forward. He has three years left on his contract, but there’s nothing in it that states how long he must stay for or that prevents transfers.
“Leeds are aware of that and will want to sell him for a big sum, while Raphinha will end up progressing in his career. There’s a market for Raphinha and Leeds have very high expectations. There’s never been a rush in terms of the project.
“He’s ambitious to play at a higher level, despite Leeds being in the Premier League, but it’s not the right time (to talk about that) and that’s not what he’s focused on. Things will take their course naturally.”

Liverpool transfer possible?
We do not think that it is possible at all that a move to Liverpool will happen in the January transfer window.
Leeds are not going to sell any of their best players in the middle of the season.
And Raphinha is a key figure in Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The Leeds no. 10 has scored three goals in seven Premier League matches so far this season.
The Brazil international winger – who earns £63,500 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – scored six goals and gave nine assists in 26 league starts for the Whites last season.
Leeds midfielder Kavin Phillips described Raphinha as a “superstar” on Instagram this month.
Raphinha’s stock is rising and only going to rise.
If Liverpool make a bid bid for the winger in the summer of 2022, then given Deco’s aforementioned comments, we think that Raphinha could be very tempted to make the transfer to Anfield.
