Some Liverpool fans on social media have been raving over Leighton Clarkson after the U23s game against Everton on Monday evening.
The Reds’ youth side failed to beat their local rivals, but that doesn’t mean there’s not been anything to get excited about.
Indeed, as you can imagine, a local derby for the U23 side garnered a lot of interest and a lot of viewers online, and one player who seemed to stand out to the fans who watched the game was Clarkson.
Clarkson is certainly one of the biggest talents in the U23s, and having made his senior debut earlier this season, which impressed a number of fans, and it seems as though he’s making strides towards becoming more of a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Clarkson’s chance may come sooner rather than later if he continues playing like this, after all, Klopp has been very open to giving young players chances in recent seasons, with the likes of Curtis Jones and Rhys Williams establishing themselves in the senior side this term.
Clarkson certainly impressed against Everton, and he got a lot of praise on social media for his performance.
