Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto isn’t entirely convinced by the prospect of signing for Everton this summer.

Everton want Wilfried Gnonto but the Leeds United talent allegedly isn’t too interested in that move.

That is according to a report from TalkSPORT, who claim that Gnonto is ‘high’ on Everton’s transfer wish list this summer.

However, Gnonto and his representatives are already not entirely sold on the idea of moving to Everton.

The Italian is now minded to stay at Elland Road unless he receives an offer he really loves.

Everton are still in discussions over Gnonto but a move for the Leeds man is now looking unlikely.

Reports from the Daily Mail earlier in July suggested that Everton offered £15million for Gnonto – less than a year since Leeds paid just £4million to sign him from FC Zurich.

Leeds allegedly rejected that offer and it sounds like Gnonto isn’t exactly going to push for a move to Goodison Park.

Everton still facing attacking transfer problems amid Wilfried Gnonto report

The Toffees went into this transfer window desperately needing to add an attacker or two to Sean Dyche’s squad.

Everton have at least managed to land Arnaut Danjuma, bringing the Villarreal winger in on loan.

The Dutchman can’t do it all on his own though and Everton still need other forward-thinking players.

Anthony Elanga was one target as he considered leaving Manchester United, but he rejected Everton according to the Daily Mail.

Elanga ended up joining Nottingham Forest instead, leaving Everton to look elsewhere.

It doesn’t look like they will have much more luck with Gnonto though, who doesn’t fancy joining Everton right ow.

Players may still think of Everton as being in a relegation battle whilst Dyche’s style of play was thought to be a concern to Elanga.

This is great news for Leeds though, who will have renewed hope of keeping Gnonto after all.

The diminutive Italian, hailed as a ‘special talent’ by former Leeds stopper Paul Robinson, could now play a key role as Leeds seek promotion back to the Premier League.
