Paul Robinson has labelled Wilfried Gnonto as a ‘special talent’ following his latest performance for Leeds United.
Gnonto was on the losing side last night as Aston Villa scraped a 2-1 victory over Jesse Marsch’s side.
But it was a victory for Leeds in the sense that the young Italy international continues to look like a mighty find.
United brought the 19-year-old in from Zurich on deadline day of last summer’s transfer window.
And at Villa Park, he reminded everyone why he’s such an exciting prospect.

Not only did he provide the assist which gave Leeds a glimmer of hope, but all night he was taking on his marker – and beating him – and generally found himself at the heart of everything Marsch’s side did going forward.
Here’s what the former Whites goalkeeper wrote about him on Twitter:
According to The Daily Mail, Leeds paid only £3.8 million for the teenager.
This has to make him one of the bargains of the 2022 summer transfer window, as far as English football is concerned.
Gnonto remains something of a raw player, but wow there is massive potential there and 12 months from now, there’s no telling how much he could be worth if he continues to impress in the Premier League.
