Kevin de Bruyne has praised Liverpool for pushing Manchester City ‘to the limit’ in the Premier League title race.

The PFA’s Player of the Year added that Man City are ’special’ because they have to battle it out against a team like Liverpool.

It was the dramatic of dramatic days on Sunday, as Pep Guardiola added a fourth title in five seasons to the club’s cabinet.

This has been pure dominance from the blue side of Manchester and those from Anfield will be wondering what on earth they need to do in order to become champions of England again.

Nonetheless, this was the classy message De Bruyne had for Liverpool, as he told Premier League Productions.

“This is, by far, the best one out of the four,” said De Bruyne. “I had a tough time, physically and mentally.

“For me, the way I came back this season is so sweet. It was amazing. I am proud.

“I think this Manchester City team is special because of the way we have to do it against a team like Liverpool.

“They push us so much to the limit. That’s more tough. They don’t make it easy. They get 90-95 points every year, so to do this every single, it’s hard and emotional.”

LIVERPOOL NOT BEING REWARDED DESPITE EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCES

To constantly hit 90+ points, yet end up with only one Premier League title to your name, that just goes to show the relentless machine you are up against.

On the domestic stage, in any other era, the Reds would have more titles to their name.

But it’s not meant to be, as they will now turn their attention to the Champions League final on Saturday.

Whilst Man City still celebrate their success on the domestic stage, they haven’t been able to conquer Europe like Liverpool, who are aiming for a second Champions League crown under Jurgen Klopp.
