According to Sky Germany, Leeds are interested in signing Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha.
We covered that news earlier today, in a piece which shared that Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann thinks he’s a ‘huge’ talent.
However, seeing as Cunha is far from a household name, you might not know too much about the 21-year-old.
In that respect, here are a few things that might help you understand what type of player the Leeds target really is.
For one, he has been compared to Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.
The Bundesliga’s official website likened the two Brazilians, as they are forwards who enjoy dropping deep to collect the ball and link the play.
Additionally, the Bundesliga wrote that Cunha and Firmino are similar as they can beat players with intelligent movement as well as skill.

Also within the Bundesliga’s article, we see quotes from Bruno Labbadia, who managed Cunha before leaving his role earlier this year.
Labbadia said: “Matheus has something special. He can always produce something with a moment of individual brilliance.”
Furthermore, Hertha Berlin’s Sporting Director Michael Preetz has also waxed lyrical about the man who Marcelo Bielsa has his eye on.

Preetz said: “Matheus is a young player with enormous potential, who has already shown his impressive skills.”
Impressively, Cunha has eight goals and eight assists in all competitions this season.
That just proves he’s a player who knows where the net is, but is also clever enough to be able to provide for his teammates.
Hopefully, we’ll be seeing Cunha at Elland Road very soon.
