HITC understands Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund over American midfielder Gio Reyna.

Reyna has dropped down the pecking order at the Signal Iduna Park this season under head coach Edin Terzic and Dortmund are now open to moving him as they need to cut their own costs.

Dortmund have brought in Jadon Sancho from Manchester United and Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen this January and although both are loans initially, they represent expensive outlays for the club and so they are open to their own exits, and Reyna is one of them they are looking at.

Now Reyna junior is close to moving to England with Forest pushing ahead with a deal that would see the 21-year-old move on loan until the end of the season. An option to buy is set to be included and the finer details are being hammered out between the two clubs.

Mangala exit?

Forest themselves could be about to lose one of their own midfielders in the shape of Orel Mangala.

HITC understands that the Belgian international is keen to take advantage of interest being shown in him with Napoli hoping to finalise a deal – although Forest insist there is no agreement in place at this stage.
