Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United have now agreed a deal for Jadon Sancho to move to the Bundesliga on loan, HITC Football understands.

Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United looked to be heading only one way following a public fallout between the Englishman and Erik ten Hag.

This has now come to pass as the Englishman now looks set to join Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season and the hope from the Red Devils will be that the 23-year-old can perform well in the Bundesliga.

HITC Football understands Dortmund are set to complete the deal for the Englishman this week. As well as this, Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen looks set to move to Germany this week.

Sancho deal

After a week of talk about the Englishman moving back to the Bundesliga club, it now looks like this deal will be completed soon.

It’s our understanding that the move will be a straight loan with no option to buy and that the deal is now agreed on the player’s end.

The two clubs will review Sancho’s performances for the club before deciding what the best way to move forward will be. Sancho performed superbly during his time in the Bundesliga and the hope is that he can rediscover this form for the remainder of this campaign.

The new footballing department at Old Trafford will assess Sancho’s situation so it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that the English forward could be back at United next season, which is a similar situation to the Mason Greenwood situation, United will assess both situations.

Sancho has to perform

The winger is now 23 years of age which means he is now close to reaching his peak years in football and the former Manchester City academy graduate has to perform.

If he fails to match his output during his previous spell in the Bundesliga, then this would be a worry for Sancho and it would seem incredibly unlikely that this move would be made permanent.

It could take a few weeks for Sancho to be match fit simply due to the months away from football that the Englishman has had to endure.

Sancho has to take his chance in Germany to kick-start his faltering career.
