Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United are three of the most ambitious clubs in the Premier League.

While Newcastle United played in the UEFA Champions League this campaign, West Ham United won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season and Aston Villa will fancy their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League in 2023-24.

Villa are going from strength to strength under manager Unai Emery and could pip Tottenham Hotspur to the fourth spot in the Premier League table this season.

However, like all big clubs who are always looking to progress and grow, Villa, Newcastle and West Ham are looking at potential new players to bring in for next season and beyond.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United eye Mario Hermoso

HITC understands that one of the players Villa, Newcastle and West Ham all are keen on is Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso.

We can reveal that the Villans, the Magpies and the Hammers all have asked about his situation and have been made aware of Hermoso’s demands ahead of a summer move.

Italian giants Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus are interested in the 28-year-old centre back, who is out of contract at La Liga club Atletico at the end of the season. He was linked with Arsenal in the summer of 2019.

Mario Hermoso can be an asset

Mario Hermoso has been on the books of Atletico Madrid since 2019 when he joined from Espanyol.

The Spanish central defender, who can also play left-back, came through the Real Madrid academy, but he failed to establish himself in the first team.

Hermoso is a hugely experienced player who has made almost 300 appearances in his career so far. He helped Atletico win the La Liga title in 2020-21.

Newcastle are not having the best of seasons, but they are an established club in the Premier League who will look to go again after making some changes to their squad in the summer transfer window.

As for West Ham, despite speculation on the future of manager David Moyes, the fact of the matter is that the London club have progressed to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League and could finish above Manchester United in the Premier League table this season.
