Arsenal are making some early noises in the transfer market, with a number of high-quality players being mentioned as possible additions.
One of them includes Everton striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who was described as having ‘sauce & swagger’ by Graeme Souness during the recently-concluded Premier League campaign.
The Telegraph reported this month that Arsenal fancy signing the powerful hitman and they ‘admire’ the England international.
Calvert-Lewin is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020 and is considered second behind Harry Kane in the striker charts.
That says a lot about how he is regarded by his coaches.
Nonetheless, as posted by the Daily Mail in November, outspoken TV pundit, Souness, is a fan of the 16-goal Premier League aerial expert.
“There’s a lot to like about him,” said Souness. “He’s athletic, got a great leap, aggressive.
“He’s playing with… a bit of sauce, swagger, there’s a lot to like about him but we are in the early stage of this season.
“He’s getting a lot of credit and so he should, and a lot of publicity but he’s got to make sure that doesn’t go to his head.
“Get your head down, work hard tomorrow and harder the following day and he’s got a chance.”

Given that Arsenal and Everton are seemingly in the same boat, it’s going to take something almighty for them to be able to prize his talents to North London.
Both clubs have ambitions of getting back into Europe, so there’s no chance Everton are going to help them along the way by selling them one of their best players.
But it still doesn’t hide the fact that Calvert-Lewin was one of the most improved players in the Premier League last season.
Not only has the Euro 2020 player shown that he has an almighty leap, but he has gone from being a hard-working forward to a clever penalty box striker.
Those extra touches that Calvert-Lewin used to have in his game have gone out of his game and he has become efficient and lethal in the final third.
That’s why he is the one who is behind Kane as England’s second-best striker.
