Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared the view of people within Everton when it comes to selling Dominic Calvert-Lewin amid links to Arsenal.
Calvert-Lewin has undoubtedly been one of Everton’s best players this season, but Castles claims that there is a sense within the club that he’s reached his peak and that selling him now could be a good idea as his value has reached its highest point.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the striker in recent days, so this is a very interesting update for Gunners fans.
What’s been said?
Castles says that Everton believe Calvert-Lewin has peaked.
“The guidance I have, is that Everton think Calvert-Lewin is very valuable and they wonder whether he’s reached the peak of his development,” Castles said.
“My personal view, and it’s not relevant is that I see him as still improving and I like what I see, but experts within Everton have a sense that he’s reached his peak.”
“If they’re going to cash in, this is the time. If they get a serious offer, they would seriously consider selling him.”

Peaked?
Has Calvert-Lewin peaked?
Well, he’s only 24 years old, so his age would suggest he hasn’t while his performances on the pitch still have room for improvement.
Calvert-Lewin’s physical attributes are pretty much unmatched at this level, but the technical area of his game could still do with some work, and under the right coach that could be refined.
Everton seemingly see the situation differently, and it looks as though he could be sold this summer, and if reports are to be believed, Arsenal could be where he ends up.
