Crystal Palace fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that they are looking at Arsenal duo, Calum Chambers and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
A familiar face in Patrick Vieira is in Palace’s dugout and it seems as though he is trying to use his past Arsenal connections to the best of his ability.
90 Min have claimed that Arsenal are ‘open to offers’ for Chambers and Maitland-Niles this summer, with Vieira reaching out to his former club.
Palace fans have expressed a mixed reaction to these rumours, with most of them keen on bringing Maitland-Niles to the club.
The England international was on loan at West Brom last season, but despite his January move, he was unable to prevent their relegation.
Chambers, on the other hand, stayed put in North London, and despite a few top-quality right-back performances, he didn’t really set the world alight.
During their time at Arsenal, and under Mikel Arteta, both have been squad players, so it’s perhaps easier for the club to part ways with them.
And given Palace’s current troubles, the Gunners may find that buyers won’t be that hard to track down.
It has been suggested that Palace’s pre-season friendly against Portsmouth on Friday has been scrapped given their lack of players.
This is perhaps an indication as to where they are heading ahead of the new campaign and would someone like Maitland-Niles want to be in another relegation fight?
