Despite his excellent record for the club, Son Heung-min should be worried about losing his place to Arnaut Danjuma, who looks set to sign for Tottenham Hotspur on loan.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano claimed on Tuesday that Antonio Conte and Co. have hijacked a move for the Dutch international, who had already completed a medical and media duties with Everton.

Now, the 25-year-old is Spurs-bound, as he is on his way to conduct a medical with the club to get his loan deal over the line.

With a mere 4 goals and 2 assists in the Premier League so far, one of the most prolific wide forwards in Europe has looked worryingly poor.

Considering Arnaut Danjuma is also a left-winger by trade, this is not a good omen for Tottenham legend Son Heung-min.

Once described by Owen Hargreaves as ‘explosive’, the Villareal loanee was one of the most in-form wingers for a side that went as far as the Champions League semi-final.

With 16 goals and 4 assists in La Liga and Europe’s elite competition, the 25-year-old brings a ton of end product, pace and directness to any side.

The aforementioned traits would usually be associated with the 30-year-old Spurs icon, who even Antonio Conte admitted was not in encouraging touch.

As Tottenham eye Champions League football next season, Son Heung-min may finally be out of Conte’s good books at Tottenham if Arnaut Danjuma hits the ground running.

While the Villareal star has only joined the side on loan, his positive displays could be a threat for the club legend, both in the present and the future as a permanent transfer could well materialise in the summer if things go as expected by many.
