Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has been speaking about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid his recent poor form and disciplinary issues.
Aubameyang has been out of sorts for quite some time at Arsenal, and he was dropped from the squad at the weekend after what Mikel Arteta described as a disciplinary breach.
Aubameyang, in the past, has been a model professional and one of Arsenal’s best players, but this is the second time something like this has happened, and his form has also dipped.
Campbell believes that something has changed with Aubameyang and that he’s not listening to the manager anymore.
What’s been said about Aubameyang?
Campbell gave quite a scathing verdict on the striker.
“It’s one of his biggest misses where he hit the post against Newcastle, and with the quality if him you’d expect him to knock that in. For me, he’s done really well scoring goals, FA Cup finals, being a talisman for Arsenal for a number of years. I don’t know, maybe something’s changed in the dressing room, he’s changed mentality wise, he wants a fresh start, they’re not listening to the manager anymore, that’s the thing,” Campbell said.

Different
Campbell is right about one thing, something has changed with Aubameyang.
The striker doesn’t look like the same person we saw during his early days at Arsenal. That clinincal edge is missing, and while he’s supposed to be Arsenal’s captain, he’s not showing much leadership on the pitch whatsoever.
Whether or not he’s listening to the manager is another matter, but Campbell clearly feels as though something isn’t right with the Gabon international right now, and we’re inclined to agree.
