Spurs defender Davison Sanchez has been in talks with Sevilla over a potential transfer.

Speaking to Marca Colombia, the player’s agent confirmed that talks had taken place with the La Liga side. However, Sevilla are unable to make any signings due to the size of the squad.

As things stand, the Andalusian side are currently at the limit of La Liga’s squad registration numbers. This means that no new players can be registered with Sevilla.

There is a glimmer of hope, though, for Sanchez. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in talks with Sevilla for defender Jules Kounde. Indeed, Sanchez could leave Spurs if this transfer was to happen.

Sanchez joined Spurs in 2017 from Ajax after Mauricio Pochettino paid a then club-record fee for the defender. However, the 25-year-old centre-back has struggled for form over the past few seasons.

Moreover, new manager Nuno Espirito Santo eager to improve on the club’s central defence, Sanchez is seemingly surplus to requirements to the Portuguese coach.

And on social media, Spurs fans are eager on Chelsea signing Kounde this summer to open the door for Sanchez to replace the French international in the window.
