The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has sanctioned the winger’s Ibrox exit on loan.

Some Rangers fans are fuming at the Gers’ decision to loan out Glenn Middleton to one of their biggest rivals.
The Rangers winger has joined Hibernian on a season-long loan deal, despite interest from ‘clubs in Britain and further afield’, according to the Edinburgh side’s official website.
There is little love lost between the fans of Rangers and Hibs, whose rivalry intensified during the duo’s second-tier spell earlier in the decade.
Tensions famously boiled over during the 2016 Scottish Cup final, which was won by Hibs even though it was Rangers who gained promotion without them that season.
And this is what those of a Rangers persuasion are saying about Middleton’s move…
Ironically, Middleton is expected to fill the void left by the injured Hibernian winger, Martin Boyle.
It was Boyle who became embroiled in a spat with some Rangers fans on Twitter earlier this summer, after a Gers supporter mocked his absence – prompting the Australian international to reply with a Shaun of the Dead meme.
