Rangers are close to securing Glen Kamara down to a new long-term contract with the club.
According to the Athletic, the Scottish Premiership champions will tie down their star midfielder to a fresh deal with the club. Kamara’s future has looked uncertain this summer with Premier League clubs keen.
Indeed, Rangers are not just out of the woods yet. As per the report, Kamara is still open to a move to the English top-flight. However, the Scottish side have worked out a compromise if a suitable offer was to come in.
Newcastle United and Watford are two sides who are keen on the Finnish midfielder. However, Kamara signing a new contract this summer will keep the 25-year-old at the club for this window.
The midfielder further last season established himself as one of Rangers’ most important players. Kamara was a focal point to their SPL title, and the club signing him to a new contract is a huge coup.
Rangers are currently 2-1 down to Malmo in their European qualifier. And Kamara was a miss for Steven Gerrard’s side on the night.
